True Potential is committed to helping people do more, and in these difficult times we want more than ever to do more for our local community.
As UK society now faces up to the challenges of the Coronavirus, it is important that we support our neighbours and those in society who need a helping hand, particularly the elderly and vulnerable.
That’s why True Potential, in conjunction with partner the Harrison Foundation, is donating £5,000 to Tynedale Hospice At Home.
The Hospice offers three vital front-line services; nursing care, hospital transport and pre and post bereavement support to children, adults and families in their local communities, serving people in Tynedale, Ponteland, and West Northumberland.
In the last year, Tynedale Hospice at Home provided nursing care to over a hundred patients and gave bereavement support to over 132 adults and 77 children.
The £5,000 donation will help the Hospice to continue providing the vital care needed in this challenging period.
True Potential Chief Executive, Daniel Harrison, said: “This is one of the most challenging times our country has faced for decades and we really wanted to support those on the front-line.
“Tynedale Hospice at Home do fantastic work on the ground in communities and will be tackling the inevitable increase in social isolation and supporting those with underlying health conditions through these difficult times.
“The demand for those services is high all year round and, sadly, looks likely to become even greater. I’d like to thank everyone at the Hospice involved in this vital work especially in the months ahead.”
Carol Meredith from Tynedale Hospice at Home added: “The support of True Potential is hugely appreciated as we continue to help some of the most vulnerable older people through our home-based palliative care delivered by registered nurses. The support is also so timely as we know that much of our community fundraising – sponsored activities and volunteer run events- will naturally be cancelled or deferred for many months given the advice to self-isolate and maintain a social distance, preventing people from becoming involved in community activities.
